Biography
Prof. Dr. Henelito A. Sevilla, Jr is the current Dean and Professor of Asian Center, University of the Philippines Diliman. He obtained his Ph.D. in International Relations from Tehran University and MA in International Relations from Shahid Beheshti University, Tehran, Iran respectively.
He founded and served as the current president of the Philippine-Middle East Studies Association (PMESA) as well as the Philippine-Iran Scientific and Cultural Society Incorporated (PICCS). He is responsible for reviving and coordinating the West Asia Studies program of the UP Asian Center since 2008 to present. He has written extensively on Middle East and Asia and have published in several local and international journals and books. He has been consulted by local and foreign media outlets about he the Philippines and Middle East and has been invited to talk in various international symposia, conferences and fora. He received several awards in his teaching, research and publication works as well as in his various community engagements to help people from marginalized sectors of the Philippine society.
