Dr Nurul Ain Norman

Biography

Dr Nurul Ain Norman is is a research fellow at ISTAC-IIUM. Previously, she served as Head of the Education, Culture, and Art Unit at the International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies Malaysia (IAIS Malaysia). She began her career in 2011 as a graduate assistant at the Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas Library and later became Head of Publication and Research at Transworld Business Vision and Services Sdn. Bhd. Her research interests include Islamic and Western philosophy, logic and critical thinking, education, children and family, and art and culture. She was awarded a translation project by the University of Birmingham for the Global Philosophy of Religion Project in 2021 and received the MyBrain PhD Scholarship Award in 2015. Dr. Nurul Ain has designed the Children Soul Development Model based on Ibn Sina’s Theory of Soul and conducted Persian Language Training courses for the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2022. She has also contributed to the KRITIKOS Project with PPFPM and ThinkerAnalytix, Harvard University. Her notable publications include articles on Islamic art, Ibn Sina’s Theory of the Soul, and contemporary Islamic thought in various journals and bulletins.
