Background
Asia West-East Center (Asia WE) is a dynamic regional research center dedicated to the exploration of security, diplomacy, socio-political dynamics, economic shifts, cultural nuances, and social developments in both Eastern and Western Asia. Our commitment is to foster a deeper understanding of the interactions and progress in these regions and their broader geopolitical and economic environments.
Mission & Vision
Our mission is to bridge the gap in understanding and cooperation between Western and Eastern Asia, ultimately creating a better future for both. We envision a world where East and West Asia collaborate and cooperate, leveraging their strengths for mutual benefit.
Founding Philosophy
Asia WE were initiated by a dedicated group of individuals striving to improve relations between Eastern and Western Asian regions. Eastern Asia encompasses Southeast and Northeast Asian countries, with a special focus on ASEAN, while Western Asia refers to the Middle East—a historical cradle of major religions.
These regions boast rich religious and cultural diversity. Western Asia is known as the birthplace of Judaism, Islam, and Christianity, along with various ancient belief systems. Eastern Asia, influenced by Western Asian culture and religion, has preserved its indigenous core while incorporating Buddhism, Taoism, Sikhism, and other religions over centuries. Religion and culture have significantly shaped interactions between the two regions.
Scope of Activities
Asia WE’s activities span political, economic, cultural, and other domains that influence mutual interaction between Western and Eastern Asia. We conduct news monitoring, research, and analysis focused on events crucial to the relationship between these regions. Our publications include research papers and articles published in news agencies and academic journals. We organize seminars, workshops, and roundtables to facilitate informed discussions and strengthen connections where needed.
